The Main Program Features:

• The EL-Link program allows sending data to a PC, and sending them back to SHARP^®, so data can be stored in floppy or hard disk, they can be printed, and this program makes entering new data items and modifying existing data items much easier.
• In EL-Link one can display, edit and print the data items by the aid of the accentuated SHARP^® character set. The YO/ZQ-5xx and the YO/ZQ-P20 show and edit the accentuated letter, but the other unit show the letters without accent.
• SHARP^® Ű PC connection with all new SHARP^® electronic organizers:

EL-6750, EL-6790, EL-6850, EL-6890, ZQ-190, ZQ-195, ZQ-520, ZQ-540, ZQ-P20, YO-190, YO-195, YO-520, YO-540, YO-P20 New unit models are being built in this software continuously.

• Data Communication:
  
  • Can be transmitted one data item at a time or complete register or the all SHARP^® memory (backup). In case of the YO/ZQ-5xx and the YO/ZQ-P20 types the EL-Link supports the PC Sync direct synchronize function and can be transmitted more or all register at a time.
  • When sending data, the SHARP^® unit's register is overwritten automatically (in case of new ZQ/YO you can select that overwrite or append to original dataitems).
  • While in case of again receiving, it starts receiving automatically.
  • Filtering or - in PC Sync case - deleting double entries.
  • Harmonizing the database of both unit according to "keyfields" with the Update function by all calculator types. Harmonizing with chaining data items of one unit to data items of another unit using by Direct synchronize (PC Sync).
  • Automatic PC Sync start on PC by pressing PC Sync key of unit.
  • Automatic COM port control and cable recognition.
  • My software provides a correct Backup save to PC and Restore after the RESET too! Original SHARP^® PC software for ZQ-P20 / YQ-P20 don't restore the database correctly after RESET, the new data items will be lost after in case of the following RESET or data communication. You can try this problem if click to here...
• The program interface and its handling is similar to those of Editor programs (File Edit Search … menu commands)
• Menus are similar to that of Windows^®, and the application has a windowed structure.
• Editing data items by the aid of an integrated editor using standard keyboard assignment. Edition can be performed either in the width of the SHARP^® display or in a variably wide window.
• Clipboard operations are supported.
• Data exchange with other programs, by keeping the accentuated characters of the code tables CWI, 852 and Windows ANSI. (Excel^®, Word^®, Outlook^®, Outl. Express^®, Lotus Organizer^®...etc.)
• Support for all the registers, i.e. modes of the Unit model: Telephone, E-Mail, URL, Memo, Calendar, Schedule, Anniversary, To do, Expense, Calculator.
• Text search and replace functions.
• Filter function with, combined filtering criteria (e.g. listing all the people named John and living in Vienna).
• Sorting data by several criteria.
• Selecting data items and performing operations with selected items. (delete, copy, move, print, send to SHARP^®, export in file to other applications, ...etc.)
• Copy from one register into another (e.g. Tel 1 đ Tel 2).
• These functions add extra data arranging functions to the features of the SHARP^® equipment.

 

Data Save and Retrieving (hard and floppy disks)

• Database files can be stored on hard disk, floppy disk, or other writable drive, or work in network environment (e.g. Novell).
• The structure of the file is database where 200.000 pcs data items can be stored in.
• This is a multiuser database that means several users can access the database at the same time. The same data can be read or written simultaneously using several PCs and EL-Links in network environment.
• The modifyed data items are immediately being written into the database so you don't need to save at the end of the work or load at the beginning. Opening or closing takes zero time.
• Database can be protected with password, preventing from unauthorized users.
• Exporting to and Importing from Excel^®, Dbase^®, Foxpro^®, Access^®, Text, CSV, Tab, and other delimited DOS^® and Windows^® files by the aid of CWI, 852, Windows^® Ansi code tables.
• Data exchange between EL-Link Ű Windows Write^®, Word^®, Excel^®, Access^®, Lotus Organizer^®, Outlook^®, Schedule+^®, Outlook Express^® ..etc.
• Loading documents and descriptions by splitting them to the size of the SHARP^®.

 

Printing

• Printing in 8 different and variable base format:
  - Detailed list: in SHARP^® style, full print from first character of the data item to last.
  - Quick list: one data item printed in only one row (as far as there is room).
  - Table: one data item printed in only one row, and the fields in columns.
  - Label: one data item printed to defined size label, with custom field placing.
  - Phone list: The name, employer, and phone number fields (if exists) printed in table format.
  - Calendar: traditional calendar printing with marked days and marks of scheduled items.
  - Date diary: schedule, reminder, todo, expense of one defined period printed.
  - Expense list: creating expense report of one defined period (if exists expense register).

 

Hardware requirements, operating systems

• The program runs in PC with 486DX2 or any faster processor, but above 100 MHz (chiefly to PCSync) is recommended. The memory requirement is 4 MB, and hard disk capacity needed is 20 MB.
• Runs under Windows^® 3.1, 3.11, 95, 98, 2000, NT, MN, XP.
• The program can be used in Novell or other networks.
• The EL-Link can be used with any SHARP^® compatible serial data communication cable. The 2.5 Jack plug cable be needed to the new SHARP® EL-..., ZQ-... type units. This cable can be included the electronic circuit. This electronic circuit convert the level of signal from one unit to another, because the signal level of the EL, ZQ units smaller than of PC (3V<12V) and because of this the communication not work in all PC without electronic circuit. The 2.5 EL-Link cable include the electronic circuit, but the original SHARP^® cable not include. The EL-Link cable include the electronic circuit.

   

  Packing list

• Data communication cable:
special EL-Link cable with electronic circuit is integrated in the connector (Each items are packed after controlling with a test program simulating heavy load), or original SHARP^® cable in package of calculator. "Only Software" kit in plastic bag doesn't include cable.
• 2 pcs 3,5" Floppy disk with the EL-Link software.
• User's Guide.
• Registration card. The user becomes registered user after sending back this card. New versions will be provided for her/him only for the reproduction and posting costs, or gratis from here.
• 12 months full warranty, service for at least 10 years, spare part provision, software updates.

 

Installation

• Can be installed the EL-Link software in here, if click to HERE, then fill in the form on pop up download web page and click the "Start download" button. When the Download window turns up, select the "Run" menuitem, and click OK. Then the EL-Link installation kit download to your PC and start the setup program of EL-Link. The EL-Link installation kit automatically remove own in your PC at end of installation, not engage the disk space afterwards.
• Can be selected the "Save to disk" menuitem in the Download window, in case of that look up and start the EL-Link.exe file in the entered download folder:
  - Under Win 3.1, 3.11: Program manager đ File đ Run đ Browse đ EL-Link.exe
  - Under Win 95, 98, 2000, NT, MN, XP: Start menu đ Run... đ Browse đ EL-Link.exe.
• If you already installed the EL-Link the reinstallation don't delete and don't overwrite the your old EL-Link data files.
• You can be selected the "Trial" version installation for 90 days, or the "Final" installation by the reply code number.
• In case of "Final" installation the Setup program shows the 9 digit code number. You send this code number by E-Mail to ellink@freemail.hu address and send the price of licence by post or local bank transfer.   Prices, Payment types...

• When the money and the "Licence Request" with your Random Code Number via E-Mail arrives, I send you a "Licence" E-Mail. This E-Mail will include the "Reply code number" to final installation.
• Then you can select the "Final" installation menuitem in the Setup program and enter this "Reply code number" to editbox and click to next button.
• If you purchase software kit in the floppy disks, or complete kit with cable the setup program not request the reply code number, the "Final" installation automatically.
• If go on the next window can be given the destination driver\folder - place of EL-Link software -, and the database file folder - place of created EL-Link database files. This database file folder can be created to network drive as well, if you give the suitable network drive letter.
• Remove the installation by "Uninstall EL-Link" menuitem in Start menu đ Programs menu, or UnIns.exe program from EL-Link folder.

 

Starting

• If you have Win^® 95, 98, 2000, NT, MN, XP start EL-Link from the desktop or the EL-Link folder by clicking the Shortcut icon EL-Link, or use EL-Link menuitems in the Start menu đ Programs menu, or maybe the Start menu đ Run… menuitem.
• EL-Link can be started from under the Win^® 3.1, 3.11 operating system with the EL-Link shortcut icon in EL-Link window of the Program Manager, or in menu: Program Manager đ File đ Run đ Browse đ ELLINK.EXE.
